Amateur footage uploaded to the internet is claimed to show Syrian rebels in the town of Aleppo parading a tank through the streets of the Al Bab suburb, after purportedly capturing it from government forces.
Dozens of people can be seen standing on the tank as it drives through the streets, cheered on by bystanders as gunshots are heard, apparently fired in celebration.
Opposition activists reported clashes in several rebel-held districts of the city on Sunday morning as government forces continue an assault on Syria's commercial hub.
International peace envoy Kofi Annan and other foreign leaders said the situation in Aleppo served to emphasise the need for a negotiated political solution to the conflict in Syria, now in its 16th month.
