It won’t technically be as hot today as it was Friday in the City of Good – and Sweaty – Neighbors when Buffalo was beset with record-breaking high of 95 degrees.
But that won’t matter much because with temperatures hitting the low 90s mark and humidity at soup-like levels today, it may actually feel hotter, according to the National Weather Service.
“It’s going to be pretty hot,” dead-panned meteorologist Jim Mitchell this morning.
It’s like to be even hotter and stickier in Niagara and Orleans counties where heat indexes may get up past the 100 degree mark.
There’s a slight chance of some “very, very isolated” showers or thunderstorms today, Mitchell said.
But that probably won’t get started until Sunday when the region will likely get hit with some gusty winds, rain and possibly a line of strong to severe thunderstorms.
The storms could bring with them damaging winds, Mitchell warned.
But they will also usher out the hot air, bringing gorgeous weather starting Monday when the highs may not even top 80.
