If you’re headed to the Taste of Buffalo in downtown Buffalo today or any other outdoor event in the region, you may want to bring an umbrella.
While it’s not a sure thing, the National Weather Service is forecasting scattered showers and even thunderstorms starting as early as late morning and going into the evening.
"I would bring an umbrella," said meteorologist Jeff Wood, "just in case."
You may also want to bring a kerchief to mop your brow, because it’s going to feel downright tropical today.
Wood said the high today will be in the upper 80s and the dewpoints are up in the 70s — well above the comfortable range.
"It’s almost Florida weather," he said.
The humidity is expected to taper off overnight with dewpoints dropping into the 50s Sunday. The high Sunday will top out at 80.
"It’ll be much more pleasant tomorrow," Wood said.
