When the East Coast Becomes a No-Fly Zone

blizzard that could drop as much as two feet of snow in some parts of the northeast has wreaked havoc on air travelers across the country. More than 2,700 flights into and out of New York and Boston were delayed or canceled, affecting connecting flights at several major airports.

Cancellations increased throughout the day Monday once the storm moved into the area. By about 6 p.m., virtually no flights were arriving to or departing from New York’s LaGuardia and JFK airports, Newark Liberty International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport. Almost all scheduled flights at these airports have been cancelled Tuesday as well.
