SASKATOON -- A senator's wife accused of causing a ruckus on a flight to Saskatoon will be allowed to talk to her husband on the phone and over the Internet while her case winds through the courts.

The Crown had resisted any changes to Maygan Sensenberger's release conditions, in part, because one of the allegations is that she threatened to slit Manitoba Sen. Rod Zimmer's throat.

But a judge agreed to let the 23-year-old talk to her 69-year-old husband, as long as they are not face-to-face.

Sensenberger was arrested last week after taking a flight from Ottawa to Saskatoon with Zimmer.

A witness has said Zimmer started having health problems on the flight and Sensenberger became upset, but police allege she yelled about bringing down the plane and threatened Zimmer.

The case has been adjourned until Sept. 18 where it is expected Sensenberger will enter a plea to charges of uttering threats and causing a disturbance.
