Four hurt in Michigan Ave. crash

Four people were injured early this morning when the vehicle they were in lost control near Michigan Avenue and William Street, hit a fire hydrant, a building and a pole, rolled over and started on fire, Buffalo Police reported.

The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. on the 800 block of Michigan Avenue, according to the police accident investigation unit.

Police are looking into the possibility that all four occupants, whose identities were not released, were ejected. The occupants were taken to Erie County Medical Center, one with injuries that appeared to be serious, a second in stable condition, and the two others with minor injuries.

Charges are pending in the accident, police reported.
