A 72-year-old Michigan man was killed this afternoon when his Jeep Liberty crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Fort Erie, Ont.
The collision happened about 4:30 p.m. near Thompson Road as the vehicles were headed toward the Peace Bridge, according to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Dave Woodford.
Traffic on that section of the QEW was shut down for several hours.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
