Twenty-one events are slated for the London Paralympics holding from August 29 – September 9 in London.
The events are archery, athletics, boccia, cycling road, cycling track, equestrian, football 5-a-side, football 7-a-side, goalball, judo, powerlifting, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis.
Nigeria is expected to send a team to the paralympics.
Also, large crowds are expected to watch the events, like it was during the Olympics which ended on Sunday.
According to the organising committee of the games, over 2.1 million tickets have been sold, which surpasses the 1.8 million sold at the Beijing Olympics.
Over 600,000 tickets have been purchased in the last one month.
The Chairman of the London 2012 Organising Committee, Seb Coe, said, “We are absolutely delighted with how the British public has responded so far to tickets for the Paralympics Games.”
So far, 2.5 million Paralympic tickets have been put on sale in total and the rest of the tickets are available, with more tickets available online next week.
