Afghan authorities say an explosion has killed at least 20 people and wounded more than 40 others at a wedding reception in northern Afghanistan.
Police say Mohammad Khan Samangani, a powerful former Uzbek commander and a member of the lower house of parliament was killed in the suicide attack early Saturday in Samangan Province. The wedding party was for Samangani's daughter.
Authorities say a suicide bomber entered the wedding hall in Aibak, the provincial capital, and embraced Samangani before blowing himself up.
