The Voice UK winner likely to fall short of Top 10

Run To You, which the 28-year-old singer performed on Saturday's live final, is currently struggling at Number 27 in the midweek charts. This disappointing chart position comes despite an audience of over 8.7 million tuning in to see her perform the track over the weekend.

The single is a long way short of making the Top 10 and more than 2,000 sales away from the Top 20 having sold 6,527 units up to the end of business on Tuesday, according to the Official Charts Company.

One of the reasons being given for Run To You's poor performance is that the single hasn't officially been released as a "Winner's Single" and is only available to buy on digital download.

Meanwhile, the show's runner-up Bo Bruce entered the UK midwek chart at number 19 with her EP Search the Night.

Bruce, who was tipped to win the series, recorded the collection of music before entering the show in 2010 and saw the EP vault up the iTunes chart following her defeat on Saturday.

As a reward for winning The Voice UK, Mitchell has been handed a £100,000 recording contract with Universal Music and is expected to release her debut album later this year.
